Night in Chinatown Parade, 2/6/10

What is Chinese New Year without a parade. This parade went through Hotel Street (Downtown to Chinatown) - it was well attended.
Double click on this pictures and check out the reflection in the tuba.

This character is similar to a jester.

This lady is making dumplings in this little room. So Chinese.

Hayden's First Birthday, 1/30/10

Jalna, Erick, Hiromi and myself had the pleasure of shooting Hayden's first birthday.

Here is Hayden's sister taking a peek...
of his birthday cake.
Here is Hayden.
Dad and sister.
This is an example of being in the wrong spot. I didn't get a good picture of his mom.
This roast pig was to die for. I have never tasted such tender pork. Sorry piggy.
This picture barely shows how many came to help Hayden celebrate his first birthday.

The magician Obi did terrific card tricks, dunno how he got that card on the wall.
The entertainment included a magician and a halau (hula dance group) that performed many dances. They were terrific.
This little one was way cute!

Al Green, 1/23/10

Stan Y. and I enjoyed Al Green's concert at the New Blaisdell Arena. We sat in Section F, row 9, seats 7 and 8. Although they were great seats, we were on the risers so my 12x zoom was very helpful. I used my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3.

The rest of the pictures are cropped.

Airbrushed Motorcyles, 1/17/10

Jalna, Erick and myself were awed by the talents of Earl Bantolina. He airbrushed Kenneth and Mike's bike. If anyone knows about airbrushing, it is difficult to get the right pressure as well airbrush on metal and curves. Earl is the husband of Jalna's co-worker Joy.

I wish I had taken more pictures of his beautiful art work. So very talented!!!

This is Kenneth, check out his Ironman bike.

This is Mike, check out his Darth Vader bike.

Waikiki, 1/16/10

Hawaii Photographic Society had their first outing for 2010. We met at the "Kapahulu groin" in Waikiki, hoping for a good sunset. Since that didn't work, we enjoyed just being out and shooting.

For dinner we went to Lulu's above Starbucks, at the corner of Kalakaua and Kapahulu Avenue. It was just across the street and it was perfect for a large group. Needless to say it was fun.
