75th anniversary of the end of World War II, 8/30/2020

We came here specifically to see the historic war planes fly over. Apparently this was not the spot, although it looked like it would fly over - according to a map with the path and times. This was a 2 day event.

We only saw one plane.

This is the other side of the boulder.

I did this video because I felt single photos would not capture what I was seeing.
Video: Lā`ei Point

Not sure why only 1 plane flew by and about 20 minutes later it came back.

Lunch anyone? We went to Fumi's Kahuku Shrimp Farm. I had this butter garlic shrimp, Gary had their spicy garlic shrimp.

This portable step stool is from City Mill.

What? Another plane at 11:36

We decided it may take 1/2 hour to come back. With these portable step stools, we found a place to enjoy shave ice.

Just about 12:06,  it came back.

Here are Gary's photos

Yup, just one war plane.

At Fumi's, these coots caught Gary's interest while waiting for the plane to come back as I had mentioned in my section.

Yay a second one.

Although we had wish to see all 12 of them, it was good getting out safely during this "stay at home" time.

Koko Head Botanical Garden, 8/5/20

Just a heads up. After posting this blog, I looked on my cell phone and Gary also did. Apparently with the phone, our photos randomly got distorted  - squished and elongated which was not complimentary to those photos. "Blogger" is using a new format and from August 24, 2020 - all blogs will be using this format. Also when uploading the photos, they were all added as large photos. I liked when it medium and then I was able to move my photos into the order I want to tell my story. I would then change the size to extra large.

We met at 7 am. As usual photographers go their separate ways - Derek, Dewey, Milton S., Wes, Gary and myself had fun capturing our photos.

Here are Gary's photos...

Got some bee action...

Definitely a bee in flight

Here are my photos...

Milton S. took our photos. My turn to take his.

We were fortunate it was not too hot today.
