Fishponds, 6/7/21

Thank you Eyes of Hawaii, Milton Hee, for arranging this excursion. This was definitely was a first for me as well as for Natalie, Cora, and Don.

Our first stop: He`eia State Park...

We were not sure what this blue smoke was about.

Lots of chickens, this little one was so cute.

Second stop:  Milton's cousin Sandy's place...

It really made our day to see the view she and her husband have.

Third stop: close by...

Thank you Sandy for suggesting this view

Fourth stop: Waiahole Poi Factory

This place is a must. Besides yummy Hawaiian food, they have a dessert called "Sweet  Lady of Waiahole" - warm Kulolo topped with  Haupia ice cream.

Fifth stop: Huilua Fishpond...

We walked out to the road and down to get to this location

Sixth stop: Waikalua Loko I`a...

I certainly have to thank Natalie for driving. Milton, wow, what an excursion - 6 stops!!! It was also nice to stop at your cousin's and her suggestion of another vantage point of a fish pond.

It was Jalna. Also it was a bit of Hawaiian history, as the Hawaiians found a way to breed fish for food.
