Memorial Day at Punchbowl, 5/25/09

I am not sure if I was able to capture the magnitude of this National Cemetery which is located in the Pu'owaina Crater (Punchbowl). This cemetery was built in 1948.

To see a larger view, double click on the picture.  This is another attempt to show you the numerous flags at each grave.

"Lady Columbia symbolizes all grieving mothers and looks out on the cemetery that fills the 116-acre Punchbowl Crater. The view from the Punchbowl encompasses the city of Honolulu from Waikiki and Diamond Head to Pearl Harbor. "

Nice different perspectives of the flags. Were any of these the "camera on a stick" shots? The view w/ Diamond Head in the background came out very vibrant..

Yes the 2 after the large flag are "camera on a stick shots" and the next 2 are HDRs.
