Foster Garden, 5/25/21

The last time, I took photos with the "Tagalongs" was 5/4/21. Why? On 5/12/21, I had my cataract surgery and prescriptions lens inserted for my right eye.

Today, it was fun with Derek, Natalie and Bob.

On 5/4/21, I spent a lot of time here at the herb garden capturing water droplets. However today, I had to find water droplets somewhere else.

They were in The Conservatory...

I did take a lot of bee photos but I was too far away from them. Most of the cropped photos did not look good, hopefully you will like these.

Since we are still being safe, we could not get together for a meal. Hopefully, we will be able to do that again soon.

Hawaii's Plantation Village, 5/11/21

Thank you Erick Tsukiyama for arranging this outing. It sure is good to be retired.

Here is a link to their website Hawaii's Plantation Village

Eyes of Hawaii, Erick Tsukiyama arranged this outing. We were separated into 2 groups with tour guides Michi and Robert

Since I took photos with my Canon 6T, 80D and my iPhone 12, my photos got jumbled up. I did number the photos above. The rest are in random order.

This is the Filipino game "Mancala", I recognized it because I would play the modern version with the students at Nuuanu Elementary.

I forgot to take a photo of the wages: I think it was $3.00 a day for 5 years.

This is how they filtered water.

An Eyes of Hawaii photo outing includes eating afterwards. This is in Waipahu and is "the preferred Chinese restaurant in the area" according to their website. Due to the pandemic, we could not eat inside but we were fortunate that in front of their Smoothie store there was a tent with 3 tables.

Kudos Erick, I know we all enjoyed this outing and learned a lot about the history of the many ethnic groups that worked at this Sugar plantation. I also now understand what "Manager's Drive" means.
