This year is the 30th annual Pan Pacific Festival, Benjamin Fukumoto writes: Many participants eagerly await this annual festival, which promotes cultural exchanges in the songs, dances and traditions of people living in Japan, Hawaii, and the Pacific Basin. Pan Pacific Festival

For me this was a day that started at Ala Moana Center Stage and then off to the Parade down Waikiki which ran from 5 - 7 pm

Nippon Daiko Takeru

National Taitung Junior College

There were more performances- check out,, (Henry has some pics in his gallery, Hawaii/Hawaii 7)

The Parade:

I had to shoot this, during down time, we check our photos.
After a fun day of shooting, we had more fun at La Cucaracha with Margaritas and a yummy dinner.

nice closeup of the Daiko can even see the sweat on him! Great composition of the drums from the parade. Good catch w/ the photogs all checking their pics at the same time :0) It was a fun shoot!

Good job Celia! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Too bad no photo contest this year. You would've had a few contenders.

Very nice! Great drummer shots! Who are those wannabe photogs at the end of your posting? Looks like all they do is look at the back of their cameras. Pretty funny. Great shooting!
