Lyon's Arboretum, 6/17/17

Derek, Milton S. and I braved the questionable weather. Whew it turned out fine.

This was the reflection I saw in the pot above.

I told Derek, I hear a toad/frog. Lol, I don't know the difference. Derek spotted it here. Thank goodness it was there and not by me. You would have heard a terrible scream.

Here is to you Milton. I had to squat to get this photo.

Lunch at Asia Manoa was delicious. I enjoyed the Curry Chicken Chow Fun.

Foster Garden, 6/11/17

Before Foster Garden, Derek, Milton, Walter and his son went to Pali Lookout - which I missed (time management challenged). They were pleasantly surprised by its ambiance. Bob, Dewey and I met them for breakfast before going to Foster Garden.

Even before going in, we saw this beautiful backlit leaf.

We all checked out this bromeliad which flowered upward.

You will notice in this blog, I have a couple of versions of the plants. Just trying different settings.

This was a photo challenge capturing cars across the freeway entering School Street because of the thick wires in front of the walls' small opening.

Pleasant reminder to sit quietly...

Thanks again Derek for making arrangements to give us photo opportunities both for using our cameras and for capturing nature's beauty.

Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden, 6/4/17

Derek wanted to do a hike but the weather was not cooperating.  Derek, Bob and I ventured out but did not do the hike off the beaten trail.

Walter and Steve had breakfast with us and stayed for a bit. Milton S. and Dewey photographed near shelter.

Liked this tree

Liked the flare

Now this is what I really like: leaves plus wet leaves

I used a 16-35 lens.

During this month of June 2017, if you are at Hoomaluhia, our informal group has 30 photos in the smaller exhibit room.
