Zoo, 9/29/19

After seeing Derek trying different techniques - I wanted to do the same. Lol, it does take time to figure it out. I am in "preschool".

A new addition to our zoo - Sun Bears.

It is hard to believe this was the other Sun bear.
Someone thought it was a pig. The glass enclosure made it difficult to take photos.

This dragon fly stayed put - not sure why. However, I was still experimenting with the filters with cut outs - so I had to manual focus. Again, I was challenged.

I feel this my best photo, I caught it when its tail was swirling.

I may come back to the Aviary - I want to catch birds in flight.

Thanks Derek and Bob for a fun time.

Hoomaluhia, 9/15/19

Hoomaluhia. Wait wasn't it suppose to be Waimea Valley - 3rd Sunday? Yes, however, 1/2 way there, we were informed by an officer - that a down utility pole is creating this back up. We were fortunate that where we were, I could drive into an area and turn around.

Luckily we had Hoomaluhia to go to.  No one else could make it today.  Therefore, Derek and I took our time making photos. Did I mention it was humid? Boy was it!!!

There were quite a few of these green critters.

The first 3 photos were made before we got in. It is so pretty there.

Although it rained intermittently, we were happy.

I enjoy waiting for birds to fly - makes for a more interesting photo. These are egrets incase you were wondering.

I was happy to see Phillip Espinasse here. He was serious about making photos of the parrots flying high in the trees -  where the huge Buddha statue is.

The guys knew I would be happy that it rained since I like water droplets.

The photo after this one shows how tiny this water droplet is.

Do you see it?

Moving right along

After melting with the humidity, we had to leave. This is a very hot humid summer.
