On a Wet Day, 6/22/09

Hmmm, isn't there a vacation immunity, such as the weather should be nice at all times?

I guess not.  It is 52 degrees and for me that is cold.  Yikes.  Here is my update.

Nice entrance to Rocky's, eh?
Notice the sign, quite appropriate for Goibles.
Finally, yes there is a Tony and Rocky, as per previous blogs.
I was so ready to take this picture of Mo, the birthday boy.
Mo and his family have a beautiful home.  I admire the way they display their pictures.

Here is the view, I got this morning.  The clouds were really low.
For Rocky this was a good time to give Theo a bath.  It was so cute to watch Theo intentionally ignore her calls and hide under the table with his head down.  Not a happy camper.
Hey that wasn't bad Theo, I know this part of the wash was well received.
Don't stop now.
Enough staying at home, we packed our bags and headed to the new aquatic center, "H2O Adventure*Fitness Centre", YMCA-YWCA of the the Central Okanagan.  We had fun!!!

Yesterday, I wasn't sure I got the correct change.  Here is my cheat sheet. Canadians now use coins for $2.00 "Toonie" and $1.00 "Loonie".

For a couple of days I have been trying to get a good shot of this Rose.
Again the African Lily
And the Clematis
These are all at Rocky's:

Have you ever seen an Apple at this stage?
Cherries

Apricots

Apart from what I have posted, Tony has also planted Asian pears, Blueberries, Eggplants, Grapes, Kiwis, Peaches, Plums, Raspberries, Strawberries, Tomatoes and Herbs.

I have always wanted to take a picture of Goilbles from this angle.
Theo was happy his friends came by.

Further up the hill, Tony and Rocky will soon be building on this lot.  I'm jellos, what a view!

Osoyoos, BC, Canada, 6/18/09

Rocky held down the fort at home with business, while Tony drove me 3 hours south to Osoyoos. They have property there.

We were standing near this house where their property is.  Tony noticed and pointed out a deer just below.  I tried to remain calm but when I tried to take a picture, the deer ran away.

This picture was taken from across the way to show you where we saw the deer.
I am pretty sure it was my camera with the 70 -200 mm lens that scared her.

Again I saw a deer, not sure why her ears look like that.
Yay another deer with her 2 fawns, you may have to look closely, there is one to the right of this picture.  If you double click on the picture you can get a larger image.
Later Tony spotted a Marmot between the rocks.
Hard to see, huh?  Here is a cropped picture.
Yummy!  Along the way back we stopped at Tickleberry's known for their ice cream.  I agree my Rocky Road was to die for.

It was cool to see this map because Tony had pointed out along the Osoyoos Lake "that is where the United States begins."  In Washington state their lake is called Oroville.

This nice day ended with a beautiful sunset from Rocky and Tony's balcony.

Kelowna,BC, Canada - here I am, 6/16/09

I took a commuter flight from Vancouver to Kelowna.  Funny thing, the seat I got happened to face the row in front.  I actually was pleased with it as I could now see the propeller.

I am very fortunate that I can visit my friend Rocky and her husband Tony.  Next week, we will be going to their cottage where 2 of her 3 sons are hanging out.

My friend's place has beauuuutiful flowers.  A camera nut's dream.

Hibiscus
Magellan Fuchsia
Petunia
African Lily

I think Rocky's husband Tony, has always had a dream of having his own wine cellar.  Take a look inside.  I am impressed!

For dinner we had steak and sweet potatoes with home grown rosemary and oregano.

Yummy!  I got just a little loopy with the wine.

Dessert was especially yummy with home grown strawberries, the blueberries were not in season - so yes store bought.  I bet you are "jellos"
