Makapu`u/Makai Pier, 1/8/12

Thanks Gary N. for taking SWW and myself to this place to capture the sunset and moon rise.

Yay, as soon as we got here everyone noticed the sweet light on this person's hang glider (not really sure what this is called).  

 I spent more time under the pier having fun with making the water misty.

 Although we could not see the sun set from this location, we were pleased to see the moon rise.

Looks like 2 moons but I played with my camera to get this effect.  The next 2 were also done in the camera.

What is a photo outing without a meal - 10 of us had fun at Kona Brewery.  Thanks Erick for taking SWW and myself home.  Can't wait to see everyone's pix.

Bus #52, 12/30/11

Ever go to Haleiwa via bus?  My lady friend and I did, we met at Ala Moana Center - 2 hours later we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Kua`Aina - Haleiwa.  

I have always wanted to see more of this church.  

Across the street is the very famous Matsumoto Shave Ice store. Too bad this car was blocking the store however it was the best picture I took of this cool rock archway on the grounds of the Church.

Yes, 1951 was the start of this place.

 I could not resist getting these cute earrings - $4.00.

 Around the bend:

Haleiwa is special because of these retro buildings.

 While waiting for Bus #52, it was fun to do one more snap shot.

WEcam and Honolulu Hale, 12/28/11

Just today, my friend blogged about WEcam here is a link to her site shunshots.  She did cute shots with gingerbread boy cookies.

Yay a free app for iPods and iPhones - I downloaded it so I could use it tonight.  At Honolulu Hale, I chose Gung Fu Panda and chose which scene I wanted the Panda in.

Took this shot before going out to take pictures of the very large Christmas tree.

Our Hawaii Photographic Society, HPS, chooses after Christmas to come and take pictures.  Lots of us need our tripods to take shots during low light time.

 After our photo adventures we enjoy a meal.  I could not resist using my WEcam - sorry Alvin.

 I actually practiced using WEcam at home.

 I angled this shot.

What a cool app.  There are so many options.  These are just a few.

Waikiki, 12/25/11

I enjoyed spending Christmas checking out Waikiki with a lady friend. 

I pointed to this couple's car and then to my camera, these 2 with their Santa hats were fine having their picture taken.  Soon we saw others photographing them.

I had to go across the street to get a picture of this huge banyan tree.

At the Royal Hawaiian, it was befitting to see these carolers in their Renaissance attire.

At the Sheraton, these Christmas trees were elegantly decorated with lights.

 Tis the life.

This last picture was my attempt to get the green flash.  Timing is so hard apparently there was one since everyone clapped. Can I use the excuse that I did not have a zoom lens.  I used my Sony NEX-3 with a 18-55 lens.

Wow, it won't be long before we will be starting a new year.
